Welcome to Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds!

The Center of Jewish Day Camping in New York

With over 500 acres of easily accessible open fields, lush woods, rolling hills, winding streams and freshwater, the Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds three sites have been providing hundreds of thousands of children with summers of fun and learning since 1953. HKC sites in Staten Island, Pearl River and Long Island welcome close to 7,000 children and 200 senior adults to its facilities each day through partnerships with Jewish Community Centers and YM-WYHA’s in the greater New York Area.

HKC is itself a quintessential community center, offering beautiful shared spaces where collaborations are formed, ideas are generated, communities are built, resources are shared, individuals grow and core human values flourish.

The pluralistic and inclusive nature of HKC is reflected by its diversity of campers and community centers - a full socio-economic spectrum, a full range of religious affiliation/observance, and a range of mental health and physical abilities.

With a commitment to excellence, HKC camps provide swim instruction, a nature center, sports, arts and crafts, and a vast array of innovative, educational and fun activities.

Children develop self esteem, learn and enhance skills, discover new activities, act in a team, form Jewish identities, explore the great outdoors, understand how we fit into the world around us, become leaders…..and have FUN!
